Having a little trouble with the handle wrap. This dang elephant is a pain in the but. Going to take it over to my buddies house. He uses elephant all the time. This one may be the first one I glue and stitch.  Hoping for a photo shoot on Friday then in the tube on Saturday! Patrick

Gaur I have a new object of lust.

the last coat of oil goes on mine in the morning.  shouldn't be too long after that for shipping.  I don't think the hooks will fit in a pvc pipe.

I just need to tag mine and ship it. So lazy lately! Getting home at 6 instead of 4 is a chore!

Thanks for the comments.  Got the bow shot in.  Came out at 54#@28".   Got one coat of finish on her.  Woods are Burmese rosewood riser (reclaimed from an old Thai house),  Burmese paduak, maple, African paduak and Madake bamboo backed and belly.  Belly Bamboo is carbonized.

I have the last coat of finish on, now the hard part--waiting long enough to harden before the last steps.  I don't want any fingerprints in it at this point.  Looking at Friday or Saturday to ship.

A strom rolled in last night just as I got back to my RV and that put a hold on tillering let me tell. I will be at tonight. The brace is looking better the inner 3rd of that limb is still stiffer but it is moving in.

Just about to put the 2nd coat of finish on, I should have enough coats on by the end of today then stitch a grip on and i'll be done.
Tambooti riser, maple back, purpleheart core, zebrano powerlam and pau ammerillo belly all glued up into a simple straight profile. My victim is a target shooter so I just went for a longer, straight profiled stable bow.

Well the elephant is a no go. I'm going with a beautiful piece of whitetail! My victim is more of a hunter. Besides, like a friend said, it's a lot more fitting to have deer on a primitive bow than an exotic leather.

I'm planning on making a full write up about this bow. I haven't posted one in a while. I put a few pictures up later. Times running out, and I still don't want to send this one out. But it will be in a tube and on its way Saturday! Patrick

That handle wrap looks like a very expensive poece of leather furniture you would find in a lawyers office.
