Wow! Thanks for the comments everybody!  :) I really appreciate it. The nocks are bone. I like using it because it works well and is far harder than the wood. I actually had the string split down the side of the nock the first time I got it strung up. Luckily I was able to super glue it into place and haven't had any problems since. Width at the fades is 1.5" wide and tapers to 1 3/8" mid limb. Even though it took some set it definitely feels stout at brace.

Hard to imagine a 58" hickory drawn to 28 not taking some set, let alone just 1/2 inch. Looks great. I had a hickory split at the nock once too and was able to save it. Never made a bow without overlays since.

I like the bow, and I've been wondering lately about side nocks.  Is there a purpose for the side nocks besides the coolness factor?  Such as does it let you make more narrow limb tips?  Do you put top and bottom nocks on the same side of the bow or opposite?
