Sidman sounds like you got a great plan going on there

Loope +1 what Don said. But your dang close and looking good.

Ranasp. Rasp that knot out down to the lines on your handle then use your scraper to get it where you want it. Also thin them limbs down to 1/2 inch thick and start there. I'm working on a little 55" long black locus for a friend and the limbs are alittle under 3/8" thick. And I have 43lbs at a 20" draw. So you will be safe at 1/2"

Thanks Gut!

Sorry for the slow updates - I will certainly finish by the deadline, but I tend to work fairly slow these days.  I have learned from experience that to fast means broken bows, and since I want this one to be for someone else, I am making myself go slow and careful.  I've also got a lot of family stuff going on with the kids getting out of school and such soon.  But, I will be in on time, and I will be keeping folks posted on here, so please just bear with me.  I won't let y'all down.

If thats finished you have some more work to do buddy.  Those edges need to be rounded and transitioned better into the nock.

I know that was before I decided to put the nocks on it. I'm letting the glue dry first and then I'm going to smooth it all up with a file.

Hey guys, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, just extremely busy ever since I got back from the Classic.  Tonight is the first time I've been able to spend some quality time in my shop.

BUT, alas, Plan C is rolling.  I am just not happy with A & B.  They are just not my best and I ain't shipping them out.  So, here we go again.  Prime hickory billet.  Got the handle splice cut and glued tonight.  Even have some nice natural reflex.  Wish me well with this one.

Drew you got some cool ideas on holding them billets tight while they glue.

Yep, got me a system worked out.  The West System G-flex epoxy I use is kinda slick, so I use the band clamp to keep the billets pulled together.......then clamp those boys together with the hand screws.  Works well.  It took me several bows to kinda figure it out.  Now it goes pretty efficiently.
