Sorry I haven't been on in a while fellas! I was in South Dakota turkey camp ;D, then my truck broke down, and just been working like a dog. My bow is ready to ship, what's the word on early ship dates? Sorry if I missed any posts already stating this.

Things are looking good guys!

Janderson, what kind of wood you got going there?

So many glue lines. So far I've got 5 glue lines in these levers, not including the overlays. But I think I've finally got the levers stiff now. A bit more cleanup to go till I can string it up again. But I definitely learned my lesson on cedar molles. Leave the levers way over built, especially if the bow will be sinew backed. The levers have a cherry wedge down the center, underlay, and a slab on each side.

I wonder if bone would have been a better material for stiffening your levers. Well, not better... maybe more efficient. Polished bone side overlays or an in set would look pretty sweet I'd imagine. I'll have to give that a try if I get the opportunity.

I did some wood burning on the levers on my plan B bow. HHB is hard to burn. I wish I would have had a higher end burner, but it still looks fine.  I'll just add pics of that to the ever growing list of ones I've yet to post. I think I finally have the new computer set up to where can edit, re-size and post. Now I just need to find the time.
I have nothing but scorn for all weird ideas other than my own.

plans A and B are now finished, and just need some shooting in.  In the mean time, here is plan C, a nice little red oak board bow I whipped up a while back.  Tell me how you feel about it and what you think of the tiller. It has only taken about 2.5" of set on either limb.

Ajooter you are too nice.  This is actually the first bow we ever tried to make.  All of the bend is in about 2 inches of the limbs, there is a nasty twist in one, and the levers are the size of broomstick handles.  Not only that, but that "green, cross-hatched sinew" on the back is about the only thing holding it together.  It pulls maybe 15# and the arrows it shoots are more likely to bounce of the target than to penetrate.  It is more an example of what not to do than a real bow--even if I was proud of the handle stitching at the time, and I did learn how to make a flemish twist string in the process of building it.  I was up way too late last night teaching myself how to make a string silencer, and it seemed like a good joke at the time. ;)  Actually, it shows how far you can come with a little practice.  I will put up a few pictures of the real trade bows here in a bit.
