I then took it to the band saw and cut out my lines.

I have to rasp out around my lines then cut out my thickness tomorrow... On the handle and fades at center of handle I made it 1 1/4".....over 2" to 1" then 2" over to 1 1/2" wide at fade then its 1 1/2" to 1/2" at the tips.

Thanks Onebowonder, glad somebody is around here watching
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Otter, I love the looks of that stave as is. I couldn't bring myself to take the snake out.

That spot doesn't concern me at all. It's pretty small and at the beginning of the lever. Right after the fade. More than likely most of that will disappear and what doesn't will get filled with powdered deer antler. A few other knota worry me more. But that's what backups are for.

Fred, if you look close at Otters picture with the paper you will see he is folding the paper over at each one of the horizontal lines. Then he held the center line of the paper on the center line of the stave and marked the width a t that point. When done you conect the dots f ollowing the grain. That gives you the width taper of the paper following the snaky centerline. The last picture he posted shows the profile already cut out following the snaky center line.

man its hard keeping up with you guys! ::) ;D

That osage has a preformed arrow shelf. It just screams center shot.

sadly that wobble isn't anywhere near the handle, and its only 58" long

last night i got the honeysuckle and the osage roughed out and bending slightly on a floor tiller, more pics soon ;)

this is my side profile by the way :-X
any advice on this one would be help full.

and the honeysuckle, much nicer looking.
