I've been working on my trade bow today but my camera isn't working so I'll have to get pics up later.

It's hackberry, my osage blanks are a little too wet yet or I would have used them. The hackberry is bone dry. 64" ntn, 2" wide for a third of the limb tapering to the tips. I'm thinking about putting a R/D profile into it or at the least flipping the tips.

That sound good for 45# @ 28?

Figured we need an update on this thread.

I got some time the other day to work on my trade bow. Got a lot accomplished, I got it all cleaned up, and straight as a string. I got an even thickness and started getting the thickness taper lined out. Made a jig for recurveing the tips, done a practice run and tried boiling. It worked ok but I think I will steam bend the tips. Here is a few pictures of the progress.

Thats funny Mike! Cleaning may be fun, but organizing all the "crap"  is a pain in the behind!

    I'm about 1/2 done on "blinging out" the bow for my guy. Should we post 'em up without stats or wait till the recipient gets 'em?  Sorry to ask but ya know how it goes with old folks'  >:D

Thanks John! Just got to figure out exactly what I'm doing with the tips. They are getting bent like the pic, but I'm going to do brush knocks to. I've never done either so this should be interesting.
