Target arrows

I only shoot targets so I try to get the points smooth so they put out cleanly. My new target is a Bulldog brand. It is a good target but pulling the arrows out is a pain. It squeals like mad when I pull the arrows out. Gets the neighbors Beagles barking sometimes. I finish my arrows with acrylic poly. Before I try different waxes, oils and emollients is there a particular stuff that will quiet them down?

You might try some car wax on the point ends to help them pull easier.

Wax made it worse. So I put a smear of Vaseline one and it was nice and quiet. It lasts about 10-12 shots. Maybe a light coat on the target face? That would be awful messy.

Bohning String Wax. Nice and quiet. Not as slippery a Vaseline. Easy to pack. Probably good for the arrows.

Finish the arrows with Shellac and then steel wool it smooth.  That should cut down on the noise.

Another good idea. Years ago my kids had a little plastic slide. They never used it because they would stop halfway down. I squirted a little Armor All on it. It was so fast they darn near broke their ankles when they hit the bottom. I spent the rest of the day trying to wash the stuff off ;D ;D

I think that's what Armor All is isn't it?

Back at the beginning I made a tongue in cheek comment about Vaselining the target. Silicon spray just may work for that. ???
