Dave, that is some great work. Hophornbeam makes a good bow and I bet that one shoots good for years to come.

That would be great pat. If you do the demo, I can sneak away to the pool! 8)

Na,  I'll just have to draw a crowd with my mad skills when I do my own handle wrap!

Hey Dave - If you rub in a bit of Yellow Aniline dye, you could probably make HHB look like the King of bow woods!   ;D ::) ;)

Does HHB stain up nicer than hickory?Seems like hickory and elm don't take stain very nice at all.Got something to do with that intermittent locking grain factor or something I guess.Darker lines or dots too yet in there. Not a nice solid color at all.Paint is about the only thing that makes it look a solid color.Seems all people who've worked with wood realize that about these woods.
Looking forward to the handle demo Dvshunter.I'll be @ Mojam.Bring that bow too of course. Was that the one you were starting to work on at St. louis last winter?

Thanks again for the kind words.

Badman, yep this is the same one from that weekend at Chris's. Also got the final inspection on the house today and passed so it's been a good month!
