I've seen some nice quivers made from them tanned. I've got one in relaxing degreaser bath right now. Rehydrating it for tanning. Will be my first attempt at tanning beaver. If nothing else should make a nice little rug. Not sure about raw maybe shield?

Chigger, bugs can and will get into your air dried Beaver hides and eat the hair off at the roots,  all you will have left is a pretty thin pc of  rawhide with a bunch of small holes :(. If you are planning on selling your hides to the fur market you need some wider boards to create the marktable perfect oval shape, Nafa and Fur harvester both have free templates to get the proper shape. Beaver prices are really low at the present so maybe tanning for other uses is preferable, Beaver are hard to do for the self tanner, I personally send them out, they make really nice products when well tanned.
