54" sinew/rawhide backed osage
« on: August 18, 2017, 09:49:38 am »
Here is a bow that I finished up a while ago. The stave had some back ring violations and I decided to try my first backed bow of any kind. You all were very helpful with the process whether you knew it or not! (Lots of good info on this site past and present)
I made the rawhide myself from a deer hide. The sinew was harvested myself also. The rawhide was use to cover a less than perfect sinew job. Its a smooth shooter.
  Additional info:
  Handle: Jute wrapped
  Tips: walnut/deer antler laminate
  Draw weight: 59# @ 27"
Finish: 4-5 coats of tung oil
