This is a side split off a stave I got from Frank at Marshall. He had what was left after everyone picked them over and was tired of hauling them back and fourth to meets. He said they were all at least 25 years old. He gave them to me for a steak dinner on my grill and a Cold barley pop. They looked pretty challenging but I got a nice adult bow from this stave and this one from the side split. The stave had several inches of a ring chased and I just continued chasing that ring. It's much darker where it was exposed for all the years. I've still got several more challenging staves and it amazing working with this old wood.
I call this one old -n- young because of the old Osage stave and that it is made for a young child. It's 11 lbs at 15" but you can take it back considerably more. I think these bows are great fun to shoot for both old and young and they sure make this old fart feel young again. Just old Osage and ebony tip overlays. FF string 3 coats of tru oil and looks like I'm gonna have to make some more arrows.

rps3 I still not sure. I have been wanting to make one for our 4-H group. We have a very young group with zero Archery experience and I'd love to do something about that.

Thanks Jeff, yah those tips are pretty small was hard to hold those ebony overlays while I was working on them. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep string on but they seem to work fine.
