I can still do most of the things I did at 25, but I hurt a lot more the next day.   ;D

Amen to that.

I wrapped this one up 4-5 days ago. Im dropping weight in my old age and needed a lighter bow. It 42 @ 29, 64" ntn. Holds a solid 3.5" of reflex and shoots lovely with a bare string.

Very nice. I'm extremely jealous of all the great wood you guys have access to down there.

What is inset into the tip in this picture?

That is buffalo horn glued in with EA-40.

I spent the morning (12am-2am and then 8am-11am) doing final shaping on the handles of the two sister bamboo backed maples I’ve been working on.  Then I stained the wider one and am putting the tip overlays on the narrow one while waiting on the wide one to dry.  Just enjoying coffee and tunes in the shop.  It’s like heaven 😃

Very cool Chris. I like what you did at the end of those skins. Very classy.

Couple pics of some projects. Working on tuning up an old Stanley No.6 Plane. One picture of a handle design I want to try out and some limb dimensions for a bow in progress.

Here's a video of myself doing some thinning down on a piece of white oak. Going to share this in some facebook groups for beginners. I know a lot of us learn by watching others and it's hard to do that when the gatherings can't happen!  :'( I've used white oak before but for an axe handle. I had several staves that I bent too early when they were still green. The grain is so tight compared to other woods I've used. Excited to see how it turns out but it needs to dry a bit more. Still at 11%. Humidity has been high lately.

Sweet bow Pearly.  The skins look great.

Russell, take it easy with your back.   Once you mess it up it's never the same.  I deal with back pain almost every day.  It started with an accident when I was your age.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Spent the morning doing chores. Finally made a steel towel holder for my ash slab Island and made a few months back. Teaching the daughter how to crumble Ricotta and properly assemble lasagna. That's my oldest Nina who a few of you know from the shoots. She's measured 4'11" this morning. Almost as tall as BJ! Off to the shop I go

I got some EA40 slapped on the splices and clamped it down. Love the two tone billets. The tape just helps the mess stay at a minimum.

This nasty thing is a blank I started for a swap, but really dont trust it 150% in either longevity or performance. So I built another one for him and just started back on this one. Its 63" tip to tip and stiff as a broom stick. Right side is floor tillered to 65-70#. Left side is off the saw.

I'll be the first to admit that I can't do what I did at 25.

I'm finally moving, will get pics of the stave twist in a bit.  Slow start this morning.

That's a nice looking bow Chris. I like the spliced billets you have also. There is quite a color difference. It will be interesting to watch them as they age to see if they end up the same color.

Man that smells good Clint.

I still got her beat by about 4” or 5”
