I'm gonna now straighten one of the tips with heat. It will be my first time  :). Don't know too much about doing it but the general outline of what you do. Any tips would be appreciated!

Well I think this one is pretty close to ready for finish work. Not sure what I’m going to do yet. It’s supposed to be simple. I think it’s about 28 1/2” here. The arrow is 32”.  Top limb might be a little stiff yet.

Was nice meeting you guys I haven’t seen yet. Maybe some more from across the pond want to join the party.

Another question, why do you put oil on the bow when your heating it?

Same reason as when you’re cooking, helps avoid burning it  ;D
You can do it without oil but it might make your life easier especially if you haven’t done it before.

Got some more done on my red oak pyramid bow. Did the backing yesterday, left it overnight to dry and cleaned it up today then got it on the tree and started working on the bend.

This looks like a lively party fellas, I'm especially interested in BJ's tractor repairs. ;) An awful lot of fine bows under way by you guys, I think I'll pour a glass of Knob Creek and join in. I've been building a few the past couple weeks and finished one yesterday and one today with a third on the way. I'm gonna step away and pour that bourbon and I'll be back to see if I'm able to post pics. It's sure nice to be among so many good friends again. (-S

Ok, first test run on the pics. These are three kids bows on the left for my granddaughters, an osage stave from the infamous Osage Outlaw, one of the osage bows that I finished yesterday, an osage scalloped bow and a black locust bow that I finished last month and lastly another black locust double scalloped bow that I made in 2011 and refilled recently.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.
