Any gear heads in here?
« on: February 15, 2026, 01:29:53 PM »
Im a guy who enjoys lifting the hood and looking underneath on the occasion
I have a 66 and 67 charger and will soon have my grandpa's 57 olds 88. None of them run
Ill be building a 440 here soon for one of the chargers with a manual. The 57 ill be keeping original for now, but may drop in a modern fuel injection engine.

Whats in yalls yard/garage?

None really now but couldn't write on this page all the cars I have had, started working on cars at about 12 with my dad and wound up a 50 + years as a mechanic in 2017, old cars are what I was brought up on, early 80's and back into the early mid 50's of course they weren't that old when I was learning to work on them. :) Love the 440, very simple engine and a power house. My dad worked for a Chrysler dealer ship in the late 40's and 50's , so he was a Chrysler man, I had a 70 Challenger 440 and a 69 Swinger 340 and my brother had a 68 Road runner 383 ,but mainly I went with the Chevy had a 50 Chevy/2 55's 3 57's post and hard top a 64 SS and several more in the later 60's and 70's, models, man wished I had them back today. Good luck with you adventure, pictures would be nice.  :)

Got a couple 67 Camaro's. Doing an LS swap on one now. The other is still quite a ways out. Was talking a while back to a young guy telling him how I took an air chisel and hulled out a 55 two door chevy going to build a dirt track car. He looked at me in disbelief and said I was going to HE**.  It wasn't that old of a car at the time.

Thought id post a Pic of my 66 charger. The engine ran before I swapped the intake. I think I lost my timing when I did that. I finally reset it to top dead center but now my points and condenser went bad so it still wont run. Im about to just go electronic ignition and be done with points.

Are you planning on body work and a new paint job or leaving the old patina? That is definitely an old Mopar classic.
