I've lived in 3 different parts of the country and never heard of them. Grunt- is it just the green part around the dandelion?  Does it taste like collards?

Ramps are wild leeks. Has the taste of onion and garlic.

You got to get the whole plant BEFORE the flowers open.  Reach down under and cut the tap root. Clean them good and cut the root off. I chop them a bit and then dump them in a hot cast iron skillet that has chopped and already browned bacon pieces. Splash a little wine vinegar on them and salt and chow down on a wilted salad. The unopened buds are kind of like capers. Good spring tonic




mullet:
 I live farther South than they do and we don't have Ramps or Dandelions. We do have onions, collards, mustard and turnip greens, though. ;D

This would be a good time for a picture. I know what dandelions are but am a little gray on the ramps...
