Seconded!

I was made redundant just days before Christmas.  Though part of me is glad for the time off (and no longer facing a life sentence for inevitably ending my IDIOT of a former boss), there's another part of me that feels "lost" without the routine in my life any more.

Sounds like your wife has a plan though, with the test for another subject area.  Fingers crossed for you both :)

Sorry to hear that, hope things work out. :)

Wolf Watcher:
I have personal knowledge of your feelings.  My granddaughter in Portland is a fifth year teacher and all the staff at that school are worried about being caught in the crunch.  I taught and coached for 15 years and if it wasn't for welding on pipelines in the summer we would have starved to death.  When I finally decided to weld full time I felt like I had wasted my education but it was for the best.  Tell your wife to apply for substitute teaching at several area schools and she will find that can be rewarding and a potential for a future position!  I missed the kids, especially on my wrestling teams, but I really was glad to get away from the administrators, school board, and radical parents.  A/Ho Joe

Thank you guys.. It is a different world than our grandparents grew up in, but this is still the greatest nation on earth and we will all over come.. I am sorry to hear that many people out there are in a similiar situation, there is hope in tomorrow ;D

JW_Halverson:
Keep that positive attitude and remember to give her lots of extra in the next few weeks.  After the numbness wears off she'll need you more than ever.  You are her coach and her head cheerleader.  I'll be up here rooting for you guys, too.
