A Hackberry Named Pearl Drums

I was gifted this hackberry stave(now bow) back in august from pearl drums(chris) when I was up in michigan at the Elm Hall shoot(its a goodun),and in return I left him a lil surprise in his tent ;)...n that's just between him n I  ;) :laugh:

Over thanksgiving weekend I took her off the rack and got it prepped out for tillering on Saturday where I went to my buddy Jons(straightarrow) house and hung out with him and Bill(hickorybil),and we worked on bows all day. By one o'clock I had mine spitting arrows >:D
and this is what became of her...

A fast screaming 62"ntn hackberry,60lbs@25",2" wide at fades and tapers to eiffel tower tips. 19 ounces mass. Its not one of my better finish jobs and just plain jane,but where she lacks in beauty she makes up for in performance...so don't let her boring looks fool ya ;)

Now that's a nice hackberry bow.  The stain job really brings out the grain on the belly.  Great job on that one.

She really turned out great Chris! Your really banging them out..... like everyone else said.... the grain really stands out.. fantastic job.. you nailed the tiller!

What a beaut!  I love the looks of that front profile, but have yet to try one like that.  I think that's probably one of the best layout options there is - keeps the tips nice and light, and the levers they create pack more of a punch.

As others have said, the beauty is in it's simplicity. Love it!

Very nice simple bow with great tiller. I usually don't stain whitewoods but I love the looks of this bow for hunting.
