eastern woodland ash started, more new pics

been awhile since i worked on a bow, got this one started, it's 66 ttt and @ three inches of bracepulled to 14" on the tree

it's got a little cluster of pin knot's there at the hump, do you think i outta back it with rawhide before i get to far along? Bub

Looking good, Buddy.   Get those outter limbs bending more before you scrape the inner limbs any more.

that's what i was thinking, do you think that knot area might pose a problem? i don't think so but i don't work with this type of area much,Bub

I personally would back it cause I have had a bad  streak this summer with bows breaking cause I tried to leave an area like that unbacked... Better safe than sorry...:) good luck

so bubby how did you begin tillering this one? Leaving the handle stiff and working your way into the handle? Or starting at the handle with an even taper in mind towards the tips?

Dictionary i made the middle eight inches about 3/4"ish and 1/2" or so on the limb's leaving the humpy section thinker, 2" at the handle to 3/4" at the tip's, Bub

Buddy, you igt leave the area around that knot a bit stiffer then the surrounding portions of the limb.  What draw weight are you shooting for?

Those knots don't look that bad to me,and if mine I would'nt back it. However,get your tiller even before pulling it any farther.66" of D-bow is plenty of working limb for a 29" draw.It ought to make a goodun. JMHO God Bless

here's a couple a pics after scraping on the outer limb's abit, first one's @ 16" the second one is 18", my gizzmo says it's good but i keep seeing that hump, are the tip's still a little stiffor am i seeing thing's, Bub

i would work on those tips a little more, i worry about to much set with the limbs bending that much in the middle
