From the overstreet guide.

Susquehanna Broad- Early Woodland, 3700-2700 B.P.

(Also See:  Ashtabula, Drybrook, Frost Island, Orient, Patuxent, Perkiomen and Waratan)

Norteastern States, A med. to large size broad expaned stem point w/ tapered to clipped wing shoulders.  The blade width varies from narrow to broad.  Many examples are asymmetrical.  Early forms have ground bases.  An extreamly popular typle in the collecting area.

From me, asymmetrical huh?  Maybe I can work a couple of these out of some rock.

Dang Jamie, after trying a couple times that was an impressive triangle you knocked out to get that big point!  I didn't have the picture out there so I don't think I got it just right.  But here's today's attempt.

nice george! this has quickly become my favorite point style. it can be done with all hammerstone if needed. i like points that require minimal tools

Man, I had a nice preform made out of a Sangria bottom, but when I got to doing those notches, I went @ it w/ blind enthusiasm and really screwed them up.  >:( :(  I read abut the notching in Noel's book of projectile points and hope I've gotten a fresh idea of how to do it.  Gonna give it another try soon. dpg

A piece of nasty Florida chert I was given a while back. Hammer stone with lite antler work to dress the edge. Slightly asymmetric and I sharpened it twice to give it that sunken edge look a lot of the authentic pieces have. Gotta try one from dolomite this week. Most of the originals were done with nasty northeastern stone like rhyolite

Well I finally got around to taking a few shots of my attempts at the points of the month.First in line is last months addition

it remids me of a sand shark tooth,I'd hate to get hit by one of these.The next are a couple of Septembers model.

Well with any luck I'll be more prompt next month...........................yeah right
