« on: October 07, 2012, 11:56:09 pm »
Hi, I finally finished my first selfbow a month ago It is a 67"NTN 43#@28" hackberry selfbow. Thanks to all on here for the help thoughout. I have been hunting with it and shoot a doe tonight with the selfbow bamboo arrow flint tip I knapped. Got one lung left a great blood trail and went about 275 yards. It dosnt get any better than this. I am hooked!!
Thanks again for all the help.

Good job grinner. Fine looking doe and that bow looks great. It should make a lot of meat for you.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Way to go!  Nothing like reaping the fruits of your labor to boost confidence.  Man has the ability to relay on his own skills to hunt successfully, as you have now demonstrated.  It's always cool to see young guys realize this.  Keep it up grinner!

"I did it!!!"

He has confessed.  We have incontrovertable photographic evidence.  The mere fact that he poured himself into perfecting the weapons only points to his pre-meditation!  Ladies and gentlemen, this case is a slam dunk.  This was no accident.  He's a hunter!

Atta boy.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
