Congratulations, Pat!

These are the stairs I cleaned up, the kudzu covered all but about a foot on the left side of the stairs. I swept the weed eater mess off of them yesterday with my leaf blower.
The top part wasn't as bad but still took a while to clear.

I have always shied away from small engine repair, my Stihl weed eater quit working. It stayed in the shop for 6 months but it turned out the shop owner was very sick with every smoker related condition imaginable, I don't know if he lived or not. I finally gave up, brought it back home and bought a battery-operated weed eater to use around the house.
My stair cleaning project made me miss my big Stihl, I really need it but being close to 30 years old I didn't know if it was worth fixing or not. When in doubt watch You Tube videos.
I found out you can buy a new preset carburetor for $19 off Amazon.
I bought recommended $19 replacement Chinese carburetor for my Stihl weed eater; it hasn't run in over a year. The carburetor was supposed to come preset to factory specs, I thought, yea right, no way.
The new carb; It comes with new gas lines and a lot of extra, 2 carb seals, 2 gas filters, 1 air filter, extra primer bulb, a spark plug and a carb adjustment tool.
After watching the You Tube videos, it appeared that it was pretty much unbolt the old carb and bolt on the new one, no way this was going to run with my luck. My gas intake line looked good so I only replaced the bulb priming line.
Installed, the throttle cable was pain to get loose but do-able.
I completed the swap, gassed up my Stihl and gave it a few pulls, I will be danged, my Sthil started right up and ran better than it ever has, with a high RPM and a perfect idle speed.
Now, I have this Still leaf blower that doesn't come up to speed right.................., I ordered a new carb for it today.
