What Did You Do Today?
YosemiteBen:
Happy belated Pat! Hope you had a good day!
Yeah Papp, I prefer to fix what I can. Time allowing....
Very nice job Mr. Krewson!
WhistlingBadger:
Nice hike/field archery session out in the desert. Covered probably 2-3 miles, only saw two other people, and only broke one arrow after many many shots in very rocky country (and hit more stuff than I missed). Calling it a win. ;D
Country like this isn't show-stopper stuff you can get out the car window, like the mountains or even the forests back east. It's more subtle. You have to get out and walk in it, smell the sagebrush and juniper, jump a cottontail off its bed, watch a muley feed up a distant hillside, get a quick glimpse of a lizard, watch your step through a prickly pear patch, jump halfway out of your skin when you almost step on a snake, spot a beautiful flower growing in a completely unexpected place, thread your way through a bunch of big rock outcrops that look like they are hiding mysteries (and occasionally are)... I always feel better after some time in the desert.
