'Ol One Eye
« on: October 04, 2013, 12:25:03 pm »
Just wanted to share a few pictures of a buck I killed Sep. 26th here in Ky.  I killed him with  my 47# Doug Rutter longbow (gifted by Tim Ott  8) ).  The shot was about 20 yards and a little high and back, but still caught the ends of both lungs. I didn't get to see him fall, but he only went 50 yards.  I've known about and hunted this deer for 3 years and never expected to even see him, much less kill him with a bow!  I know my equipment wasn't primitive...but it's been the highlight of my hunting career none the less.
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

I even took a shot from the tree just before he came walking up that old road in the right of the picture :)

POW! Way to go Shannon. That's an incredible specimen there. At least he doesn't have powder burns on him..;)
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

What a stud! Thanks for the pics! I don't lean so much toward "horn huntin" any more, but I sure can appreciate them when I see em. And to take him early season is even harder!

Nice buck !!!
I know Doug Rutter , his family owns the land where we hold OJAM , I've seen his bows and they are nice regardless , I've even shot one that someone else was buying .

That's absolutely great Shannon!  Congratulations!

You had me worried with your Subject wording, though.  For a second I thought I was going to open the link and see a picture of me! ;) ;D ;D ;D
