Osage two holer (picture heavy)
« on: August 27, 2014, 10:47:27 pm »
I just finished up this osage bow with a couple of knot holes in it.  The stave was cut in the early 90's.  It's for the guy who hooked me up with the bunch of old staves that I had tried to track down but gave up on.  I picked out the stave that would make the nicest bow for him.  He is a traditional shooter but I think he mostly uses recurves.  I asked him if he would rather have a target bow or a hunting bow and he chose a hunting bow.  Hopefully he is able to take a deer with it this fall.  The bow is 66" long and 50# & 28".  I could only get it back to 26" in the full draw picture (short arms).  I wanted to flip the tips but a few pin knots on one end made me change my mind.  There was the start of another knot hole in the arrow pass but it didn't go all the way through the bow.  It is finished with 6 coats of low gloss tung oil.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

You need some of those toilet tank knapped arrow heads to go with the ol' two holer!

Hot dang, that's one seriously sweet bow!  Good work on her!

Great job Clint.  I hope he gets a deer with that thing for ya.  That sure is a nice one.  I like the fact that it has just enough reflex rather than flipped tips.  Very good looking

Very nice Clint, you make some really fine osage hunting weapons my friend. I really like the looks of the back profile
on this one with the flares and knots. Hope he decides to take that one hunting, it deserve a chance at taking a deer.

Oh dude! That is sooo classy and cool 8) elegant simplicity, teasingly nearly symmetrical.
Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn maybe it's just the shape  ::)

Great looking bow :)
