This is the 3rd time I've had a small gathering at my place. The past 2 were in the summer when it was too hot to do much. We decided to move it to early December. It just happened to be the 3 coldest days of the winter so far. We still had a lot of fun. We ate good and had a warm garage to work in.
A big thanks to the guys who made it this year. It was a great way to spend a birthday.
Dave showing off his fancy new belt from Wolf Watcher
We had plenty of food. Deer steaks, deer burger, and lasagna were on the menu with bacon and eggs for breakfast every morning.
Some bow work and knapping
Selfbow Joe got some work done on a new osage bow
My mom made us a birthday cake with arrows on it.
We found out we were pretty much all equally
bad good at playing pool
We braved the cold and did some shooting.
Stringman's bow looked cool laying in the snow
We had a flying reindeer target
Elk antlers don't get very big in Indiana
The hillbilly version of a horse back target range was fun.
We had a 110 yard groundhog target with some knives for prizes.
Joe won the first 2 rounds so we decided to draw a name for the last knife. Joe's name was drawn
He graciously said to draw another name to let someone else win the last one.
The biggest surprise of the weekend was when Danznbar gave me the feather backed hackberry molly he recently posted. It's a work of art that packs a punch. Bill's feather backings are incredible. Thank you very much Bill. I owe you one buddy
