that doesn't really show anything useful. you need to wait until it is braced before making string line judgements.
It will crack if you try to bend it against that knot - think what the fibers are doing there!

It anyways would be better to completly remove the knot, following the grain and work wirh what you have, if possible. Then the dry heat or steam correction will not be critical. Going for an Elb there will be slight movement all over the bow and I wouldn't trust it with such knot leftovers on the edge. Cheers

 I did see that done on a recent bow, (the billet bow I think), and I was pondering on that, I'll get it down near final dimensions and move over from it as much as I can. I got a fair amount to do, I'm getting the sapwood down a few rings too, so thinking way ahead on what options.

Little magic cheat: probably lift out that whole knot with a chisel, leaving the clean grain 🤗
