Pay close attention to your tiller with the black locust. It is quick to show your flaws with frets.
I'd heard that it like to chrysal if not properly tillered or overstressed too early. I was planning on making my designs a bit wider and heat treating after floor tillering to try and avoid chrysals. I'd also heard if tillered well it makes fantastic bows that are really fast, with some people saying its their second favorite bow wood. Looking forward to trying it out and it'll be a good test of my tillering skills too.
The first two pics are the Black Locust staves I managed to split out of one large stave in the last picture. They have really nice rings too!
