New Rule

I am new to the site but I have to agree with every one.  I have been and left many sites because of too much fighting and it was no longer fun or informative.

I also hope it stays that way.  I am banned from several sites where the so called experts think it is okay to talk bad about everyone else.  I finally get a belly full of it and tell them off.  My bad, but sooner or later I will.  One of those sites banned me and I created another personality so I could read the site because it is the best of it's type bar none as far as the info.   Took months, but I finally could not stand it and had to reveal who I was and tell them off again!  Not good at ignoring adults acting like they are 13 and have been left in charge while the parents are away or something. 
Guess you guys have been busy cleaning here, or I have just been lucky.   So far I have not seen any of those problems here!   So far I have seen courtesy and manners pretty much across the board here!  That is why I have not even explored the other sites yet except in links from here.   There has been plenty of good mannerly discussions here to keep me busy!  I hope it stays that way until I get tired of archery!   I am 50 and I joined my first Monday night target league at 6Gold when I was 13.   Other than a few short breaks, I have been involved ever since.  Point being, I hope the great discussions here never change cause I am not likely to give up archery any time soon without an act of God!

I was going to mention this in my first post, but I would suppose it's more appropriate here:  I plan to keep a "strictly business" tone on this board.  For the sake of everyone's feelings and privacy, I have not intention of mentioning anything personal, unless it is both directly relevant and absolutely necessary.  If anyone else does, I simply won't anything.

And I solemnly swear, on my Security Blanket, never to mention Religion, Politics, or the Great Pumpkin.

bear67, most of us here have already been to those sites, and it got old. If everybody plays by the rules this site will overload with archery knowledge. And all the Mod's are human , too, so, guy's and gal's help us out. Thanks for the kind words, Ahnlaashock.

i havent noticed anything like that on this site. Thats one of the reason that I love coming here the most no one seems to attack anyone else. Just possitive feedback and helpfull comments. Lets keep it up, and these rules sound like a great way of keeping it that way. Cheers!

New to this site as well.  Just came over from archery talk where all it is is negativity.  Everybody bashing someone else.  Hope this doesn't happen here.

Wow,  what have i missed???  i havnt been reading as much on the bow making section becuase i have been concentraiting on other things.. like the knapping and arrows section...

  but i have allways read and have recieved all positive responsives on this site...  that is why i love this site more than myspace or you tube...  i cant imagine anybody being rude or anything like that... most of the people on here are an edicate class of gentleman with great sportsmanship and hospitality towards the knowledge that they are soo willing to share.... 
  and i enjoy reading and learning on this site... it is a wonderful place to absorb sooo much knowledge and in the short time i have known of this place i have learned sooo much and have met through msg and have come aquanted with a better class of people that i cherish as a friends and mentours...  i couldnt imagine anybody wanting to mess that up...

I would have written the same things had you not done so already. I am new here too and would hate to see this place go the way of a few other places that I used to love to visit and TRY to learn something onlt to have it turn into a bunch of bickering and bitching, people being rude and throwing out smartA$$ comments. It has already happened to me once here and I was doing nothing but trying to wish someone good luck and a good journey.

Marc,  I totally agree that this is a good rule.  One thing that has always bothered me is that when a person starts a thread on a topic, someone will start talking about something totally off topic, and suddenly everyone is replying to the new topic instead of the original.  If you do not have something relevant to say about the topic, start your own new topic.  Thanks.

Like Shooter, I must have missed something. I admit I spend most of my time in the Knapping section, but I do read a lot of the bow threads. I also have received nothing but good advice and have tried to share the same. I have learned a ton on PA and don't want it to change. If something was headed south, I'm glad you are taking the necessary steps to make it right.

I'm glad to hear so many people say they must have missed something. It means that everyone is being kind and that the occasional issue hasn't turned us into a bunch of arguing, whining old hens. I think it is funny that some people over the years have complained that we are too nice and should be more honest. Honest is their word not mine, I think of it as rude.

HI...im a member af PA. for  aboute 2 years i think....im not verry active on this forum....sometimes i make a bow or to and i post themm here.... i always say about this forum only  good words....they are so many good people on this forum..and i just love this place...it will be ashame,  that  this nice atmosfere of friendship, to change on this forum.....wi also have a forum like this in romania, and things got out of control down there...it seams that this is an universal problem with this boards, forums, etc.....but its realy shame....i always told them...lets just try to have funn, to make bow's and basicaly just enjoy a common passion....but it seams that some people take it to personal, etc...some of themm are to pride, and finaly things get out of control, people start to  say bad things to one another, and  its realy shame....lets just enjoy  our self, making nice bow's, going out in the nature.....sound nice right???

YA I haven't come across any of that stuff. I visit this site daily and read and read as much as i can and to be honest this fourm is one of the major things that have me interested in bowyery. I'm still looking to make that first bow but i know that i will have all the support and information i need from this forum. Thats just the vibes i get from this forum.
