Congratulations Pappy. Good for you for pushing on even while all banged up. I would imagine that years several hundred years ago it would have been the same bush through the pain so you can eat.  Your true mountain man stock! ;) >:D

Nice one Pappy! That Buck sure is a nice one. I wish I could get away from the shop to do some hunting but I seem to be perpetually in hunt of the big Green Buck!  :o

Looks like everyone is having a good time there. Is it cold right now? Getting windy here and really wet and rainy.

Had a great extended weekend,Lot of friends and Family and a lot of good eating/shooting/Hunting/hide and bow work. I got 2 more hides racked and
my Elk well on it way of getting done,it seemed a little hard so we put it back in the brains for another round,that should do it. Beau killed a nice 138lb buck,it only had 5 points 4 on one side and 1 on the other. :( :) :) nice buck just the same, He made a good shot but it was still quite a challenge to track ,not much blood.We stayed at it and it turned out fine. GregB also killed another deer,4 point. Several more brought in over the weekend,killed with the smoke pole. Here are some pictures of the fun. I also got 5 coats of true oil on my winged elm,it is ready for a couple of coats of satin Polly and then to the woods,good shooter. :) :)

Beau came over and spent a couple of days,it is tradition for us to hunt Thanksgiving morning and this was no different,he seems to usually have luck on that morning. ;) :) :)

Case took a good 8 point,his first hunting all by himself. Woody get a new arrow holder,he is using it for his flint head.I got the 5 Osage trees Jeramie sent me planted,I didn't have any on my place,if these make it I can't say that any more.  :) :) Terry and me skinning Mine and Beau's Deer and boning them out.  :) :)

Jesse hanging out,we will miss him. :( :( Red with my rack mounted,then some hide work. I think I have 8 or 10 now ready to tan.That should hold me through the winter. :) :)
