Osage static with brush nocks
« on: June 26, 2021, 09:53:17 pm »
So, this bow is 66" ntn #53 @ 27". I started tillering it back in march and set it aside because I knew I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone. I really wanted to try static recurves because those are the only curves I havent tried yet.I steamed the curves in than Pearly told me to do brush nocks, and I thought yeah right. Well I grabbed a couple blocks of walnut and went to work. With my anxiety at an all time high I crept my way through every part of this build. The tip overlays are buffalo horn and I laminated an extra piece of osage to the handle and to my suprise it had those cool beatle holes in it, thanx beatles. Those are the last set of snakeskins I had and they absolutely had to go on this bow. And again thats leather off my old Brooks leather jacket from my punk rock days. Hope y'all like it as much as I do, it's a rocket launcher. Thank you Mr Grumley for your inspiration and thanx Pearly for puttin the bug in my butt to do this bow

Beautiful job. Everything looks excellent. Great job on the tiller too. Definitely a keeper.

I like it. I'm not a snake skin fan, but certainly appreciate the craftsmanship

Wow, that is an absolutely beautiful recurve!  Love the hooks, brush nocks and snakeskins. It looks like a rocket launcher. Great job!!
