 "King Me"? referring to the vague resemblance to a checkerboard.
 
 "Maurice"? because it looks like a jester's bow and "the joker" was also called Maurice(at least by the Steve Miller band anyway)

Today I put a bunch of arrows through the bow I plan to ship. It was shooting great at the right weight and I felt real good about it and was wiping it down to get ready to sign it and saw this! It is just below the grip on lower limb. I must have charred too deep when bending at some point but honestly I don't remember what I did in that area anymore.



I am thinking I want to lightly sand to just touch wood and then put a tight sinew wrap of about 1/4" above and below it, so about 3/4" total.

How would you feel about this if shipping or if receiving this bow?

DuBois, sinew on that wouldn't bother me any, I like sinew.

Like the painting on that bow Sidmand - but I am not good at coming up with names.

DuBois - I would do as you and others have already suggested.  I would then shoot it a bunch and see how it fairs.  Cracks on the edge can be trouble - but that one on the belly side probably will be fine.
