bubbles, I shot the bow some more today, the unbraced photo in my hands is after about fifty shots,it really likes my cane arrows spined at 50#, they group better than I shoot. I really like the bow, need to get me some sugar maple, we have maple trees here, but I have no idea what they are, maybe, Pat M could enlighten me about maple wood, I know it is used as cores in horn and sinew bows,
Thanks

It's only fitting that the other half of that tree is going to be a horsebow. ;)

Have my edges smoothed out for steaming into alignment, then I'm going to chase one more ring and start tapering the belly.

Keep checking in guys, come on. I'm going to start calling people before too long!

Might as well make them short, save some wood to keep warm.

Mine is almost ready to start doing some alignment. Probably get some more work done on it after the classic. Patrick

My hickory billet bow is good and dry so I cut out the profile today and thinned the limbs down with the band saw.  I'm going to give it a couple more days to adjust to the wood removal then start floor tillering.  Man, the wood in these limbs is beautiful......not a flaw to be seen.....really pretty hickory from a 110 year old tree.

Sounds like a great piece of hickory. Must be on the mediteranean diet.
